A Certification for Nonprofit Sector Professionals
If you work in community development, education or the nonprofit sector; if you embrace the principle that leadership is an activity available to everyone; and if you believe we need more people authorizing themselves to contribute to progress on the toughest challenges facing companies and communities – this certification program is for you. The When Everyone Leads Certification Program is for college professors, community leadership program facilitators, high school teachers and youth developers, independent nonprofit coaches and consultants, HR professionals, and anyone else working in the nonprofit sector who seeks to build leadership capacity in others. It is for experienced teachers and facilitators who want to add to their toolbox a proven program to inspire others to exercise more leadership on important challenges.
Facilitator Certification Outcomes
Through this 2-day certification program, you will:
- Debrief and explore the When Everyone Leads program with an eye toward facilitating it yourself. (NOTE: Participation in the When Everyone Leads program either in-person or virtually is a prerequisite.)
- Adapt examples and exercises to fit your context.
- Demonstrate a basic level of proficiency by passing an assessment of their teaching the following sessions:

As a certified facilitator, you’ll help participants:
- Begin to internalize the KLC principles:
- Learn and consider application of big ideas from the book When Everyone Leads.

Prerequisites: Participants must have completed When Everyone Leads prior to attending certification program.
Program Dates: Offered twice in 2026 – May 13-14 | October 20-21
Program Days: Two consecutive days; 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (CDT/GMT-5)
Location: In-person at the Kansas Leadership Center located at 325 E. Douglas Avenue, Wichita, Kansas.
Deadline: Registration closes four weeks prior to each program or once maximum capacity is reached.

Advanced Leadership Development Intensive

With KLC’s Advanced Leadership Development Intensive you develop capacity to:
- Engage people in experiential learning about leadership using Case-in-Point.

What is Case-in-Point?
Case-in-Point is an experiential method in which facilitators use a group as a case study to learn about and practice leadership in real time. It is a pillar of Adaptive Leadership, developed at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. In classrooms and boardrooms, the Case-in-Point methods helps you co-create learning experiences with your participants.

Leadership Coach Intensive – All 60 hours offered virtually
The Leadership Coach Intensive pairs the Kansas Leadership Center’s proven framework with the International Coaching Federation’s Core Competencies in a one-of-a-kind program designed to develop your coaching mindset. Multiply your impact by helping others unlock their own potential and make greater progress for the organization.

With excellent coaching skills, you’ll develop the ability to ask just the right question at the right time to help unlock potential in others. You’ll enable your participants, clients, or employees to find greater purpose, enhance performance, and make more progress toward their goals.
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients (or employees) in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.
Our own Leadership Coach Intensive supports all ICF updated credentials and standards of the Level 1 accreditation. The program is designed to help build professional coaching skills through a 60-hour coach training that will qualify for ICF’s Associate Certified Coach credential (ACC), a Level 1 Accreditation program.
Learn and understand the mastery of coaching techniques, ethics, and core coaching competencies from experienced leadership coaches Tim Link, MCC, Teresa Schwab, MCC, Joyce McEwen Crane, PCC and Seth Bate, PCC. All courses are offered in English.
Through the 60-hour intensive, you will:
- Learn and practice all 8 International Coaching Federation (ICF) Core Coaching Competencies.
- Experience coaching as an act of leadership based on the KLC principles and competencies.
- Experience the possibilities for transformation and progress in a leadership coaching partnership.
- Practice skills and get feedback from certified coaches.
- Prepare to coach professionally or put skills to use in your context.
