Kansas City programs
Our Kansas City programs are held at various locations. Please see your registration confirmation email for more information.
What food options are available during the programs?
We take hospitality seriously and want you to feel at home when you join us for one of our programs. As part of our commitment to creating healthier communities, our chef team Marge and Chris, provide healthy options for all meals served during our programs (included in the cost of your experience). Please see your program agenda for which meals are included. For meals not included, our staff has compiled a list of our unapologetically biased local favorites here.
What do I need to bring with me?
- Your Leadership Edge and KLC Guidebook are required for all three core programs:
- Your Leadership Edge
- Lead for Change
- Equip to Lead.
- A jacket or sweater. The temperature inside and outside our building tends to fluctuate (we are in Kansas after all). We encourage you to bring what you need to be comfortable.
What is the training transfer/cancellation policy?
Cancellations or transfer requests are welcome up to one week prior to the start of your program. Please contact [email protected] to submit your request.
1. KLC will not issue a refund should you need to cancel within one week of the program start date.
2. KLC will not consider transfer requests within one week of the program start date.
3. If you are not able to attend, please do not try to find a replacement. Our programs are highly individualized and not designed for swapping participants.
4. If you are part of the Leadership Transformation Grant, a last-minute cancellation will deduct a spot from your total.
What do participants usually wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable learning in. No need to dress up more than business casual and jeans are perfectly acceptable.
Do you have accommodations for new mothers?
Yes! We have a dedicated pumping room that has received a gold-level designation from the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition. Just ask and we’d be glad to help you get settled in.
For those driving to Wichita, we are located on Douglas Avenue between Broadway and Topeka. Find a map and directions here. If you are flying into Wichita, we are located 7 miles east of Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport in the heart of downtown.

You may also consider:

During limited hours, a free trolley runs through downtown Wichita. Learn more and see the route.
If these options don’t suit you, renting a car is definitely an option.
Do you offer discounts?
The Kansas Leadership Center offers scholarships to individuals that believe leadership is an activity, not a position and anyone can learn to exercise leadership at any time. We never want cost to be a barrier for participants. Eligibility is determined by the following criteria:
1. Work directly contributes to KLC’s mission to foster civic leadership for healthier Kansas communities
2. Knowledge of KLC framework will impact others
3. Ability/avenue to share the KLC ideas
4. Financial need
If you need assistance with the program registration fee, please complete the application online here.
