What should Kansans talk about when it comes to the topic of immigration? How might Kansas Leadership Center ideas improve the conversation? Join us for a facilitated discussion to start our #JournalTalks discussion series in 2020.
Each year, KLC selects a tough issue of statewide interest and encourages Kansans to conduct thoughtful conversations on that subject — what we call “Journal Talks” — using our Leadership Framework and our quarterly magazine, The Journal. For 2020, the topic is immigration. KLC won’t take policy positions on what should be done; instead, the goal is to encourage the practice of healthy dialogue on divisive civic issues.
KLC President and CEO Ed O’Malley will facilitate a dialogue exploring why it’s hard to talk productively about this subject. An interactive quiz will also establish basic facts relating to immigration in the U.S. and Kansas to help you assess your own knowledge.
By participating, you’ll bring KLC ideas to bear on one of the most difficult issues facing the state. You’ll also influence both our reporting on immigration in the summer edition of The Journal, as well as the #JournalTalks discussion series we develop from it.
