Thomas Carignan

Thomas (Tom) Carignan is an experienced financial services leader with over 20 years’ experience currently serving the members of CommunityAmerica Credit Union. A native of Hutchinson, Kansas, Carignan has been engaged in the community from a very early age. In the 6th grade, he wrote a letter to President Reagan asking about the devaluation of the dollar. Since then, he has been involved and most recently served as a member of the Overland Park City Council. Carignan was elected in 2019, representing the residents of Ward 3 for a single term.

Tom is a graduate of Leadership Lawrence and Leadership Kansas and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the United Way of Greater Kansas City. He was previously the vice-chairman of the Health Forward Foundation and chairman of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City. He earned a BA in political science from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Rockhurst University. Tom resides in Overland Park with his wife Lizbeth and their two children.
