Sally Wright | Coach
Sally Wright‘s favorite childhood question – “Why?” – has led to a career of deep curiosity and caring about people around her.
Curiosity has shaped Sally’s path to coaching. It is what brought Sally to study at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, wanting to know how her faith shaped her and the world around her. After seminary, as a hospital chaplain, her curiosity shined in meaningful, deep conversations with people in challenging times. Sally then worked for the regional judiciary of her denomination, Heartland Presbytery, as well as a large church in the area. Her curiosity and care flourished in these roles, giving her more confidence in her gifts for meaningful conversation with individuals and groups. Now, Sally uses these skills of active listening, empathy, and compassion as the foundation that has formed her coaching practice.
Sally discovered Kansas Leadership Center in 2017, and its teachings transformed her ministry from working one-on-one to an institutional and system-wide perspective. In 2022, Sally enrolled in the KLC Leadership Coach intensive, which changed her life and ministry forever. She found that coaching took all the parts of ministry that she loved – curiosity, empathy, compassion – and put them with a client-centered focus and accountability. This combination allows Sally’s clients to be in control of their own work, while Sally creates open spaces for them to explore, learn, and reflect.
She founded Wright Awareness Coaching in spring of 2024 and enjoys working with an international client base. Her heart for both people as well as non-profit organizations have offered her a unique place in the world of coaching.
Born and raised in Texas, Sally was formed by the rural people and towns that surrounded her. She understands how agriculture or education can be the primary economic driver in a region. She is a lifelong Aggie and is proud of her degree and Aggie ring from Texas A&M University.
When not coaching, Sally finds most of her curiosity is focused on family life. Sally and her wife, Karen, attempt to keep up with their twins, who are inevitably at a soccer game or a dance competition.
