Anna Porcaro | Senior Director of Monitoring and Evaluation

Dr. Anna Porcaro serves as senior director of monitoring and evaluation at the Kansas Leadership Center. In addition to measuring KLC’s impact, effectiveness, and mission alignment, Anna oversees the technology that aids in KLC’s mission.
Anna comes to KLC with 25 years’ experience as an educator, staff member, and administrator at a variety of higher education institutions. She came to Kansas in 2010 to work for Wichita State University as an instructional designer. In her time there, she helped establish central operations and student support for online learning as the inaugural executive director of online and adult learning and helped build and oversee the OneStop for Student Support.
Anna’s first loves are music and arts leadership. She is an active lutenist and classical guitarist and graduated with a Ph.D. in musicology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has taught music and honors courses at the University of North Carolina, University of Dayton, and Wichita State University. She promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and access (DEIA) as a member of the IDEA Taskforce for Early Music America and has presented and published on diversity efforts within the Guitar Foundation of America. She currently serves as a board member for the Lute Society of America and has also served on the board for the Wichita Chamber Chorale.
Anna grew up in the deserts and mountains of central Utah and has since lived in the verdant (and much more humid) South and the Midwest. She also lived in the Netherlands for two years, speaks fluent Dutch, and considers it her second home. She loves cooking, gardening, bird watching, star gazing, taking walks with her energetic but sweet husky Sasha and Dobamute (malamute/Dobermann mix) Penny, exploring the beauty and wonders of different parts of Kansas with her family, spending time outdoors in Colorado and Utah, and learning new things from her four talented kids.
