Shane Iwashige | Coach

Shane Iwashige grew up in rural Kansas, where he cultivated a deep appreciation for the land, the expansive sky, and the value of hard work. An entrepreneur before he even knew the term, Shane spent his Saturdays during high school running a chainsaw cutting and selling firewood alongside his brother.

Raised at the intersection of diverse cultural and faith traditions, Shane learned the importance of community and living out one’s values. His father, a Japanese immigrant, taught him to embrace the unknown and pursue new possibilities, while his mother and their Amish-Mennonite heritage instilled in him a commitment to integrity and shared purpose. Shane learned to treasure life in community, hard work, and that beliefs and values must be lived out or they are merely empty words.

Shane first discovered the transformative power of coaching as a startup entrepreneur. Lost in the complexities of business ownership, he found clarity and direction through the guidance of a coach, and has since applied those lessons and skills from the Kansas Leadership Center to build five businesses in the real estate and home services sectors.

That experience sparked a lifelong passion for helping others find similar breakthroughs. Trained by the Kansas Leadership Center as a teacher, coach, and facilitator, Shane is driven by a desire to build thriving organizations filled with engaged people working to make their communities better places to live, work, and play. He thrives on challenges that require curiosity, creativity, and experimentation. Today, he channels his love of work and people into unlocking new insights and clarity for his clients, helping them make more progress on what matters most to them

Active in his community, Shane serves on the boards of the Hutchinson Community Foundation, StartUp Hutch, Choice Books, the Pleasantview Merchants Association, and Interfaith Housing and Community Services, Inc. He also enjoys leading congregational singing at his church and spending time with his wife and five children.
