Debbie Haslam | Project Manager, Wichita Documenters

As a native Wichitan, Debbie is excited to lead the initiative of Wichita Documenters. With a launch date of late Spring, 2024, Wichita Documenters hopes to get local residents more involved with the plethora of meetings that occur each day throughout the city. As they document and publish the details of government meetings, Documenters will be able to make a difference in our city in powerful ways.

Prior to this challenging and exciting position, Debbie has spent much of her professional career in the world of higher education. She started out at Newman University, where she also earned a master’s degree in education with a focus on organizational leadership. She then worked at Wichita State University and most recently, served as assistant director of student affairs at the Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. She currently volunteers as a youth leader at her church and has spent time volunteering for ICT Food Rescue.

Debbie has been married to her husband Kirk for 30 years, and they have four children together. She loves spending time with her family, watching the perennials pop up in flower beds, and enjoying the delicious restaurants around town. She loves all genres of music, movies and live theatre. Be careful when you walk near her desk towards the end of the week: you may hear anything from classic rock to pop, from rap to Broadway show tunes.
