Here’s what else is new in grassroots efforts to slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Kansas.
- Sedgwick County Maternal Infant Health Coalition: Provide support to expecting and new parents by distributing COVID resources and baby items in addition to being a part of virtual baby showers.
- Kansas Appleseed: Distribute masks and organize encouraging messages for friends and family members of the Lawrence adult learning center who have been impacted by COVID-19.
- Iglesia Cristiana Refugió Adulam: Create a culture within the Wichita church that emphasizes social distancing and hand washing.
- KCKCC Fringe Benefits of Education (FBOE): Provide food and supplies for FBOE students at Kansas City Kansas Community College to support them in staying home and making healthy meals.
- Leavenworth County: Distribute masks to local businesses, social service organizations and schools in Leavenworth County.

Kansas Beats the Virus is a partnership between the Kansas Leadership Center and the State of Kansas to activate KLC’s statewide network to generate local solutions that slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal of the effort is to spark hundreds of small group meetings before the end of 2020.
