Mildred Edwards | Coach
A skilled manager and researcher with broad-based expertise, Mildred specializes in leadership development and organizational capacity building. Her special skills entail the ability to think strategically and provide visionary leadership based on organizational goals, national trends and local data. Committed to learning both personally and professionally, Mildred is an currently an associate member of the Kansas Leadership Center teaching team and adjunct faculty at the University of Kansas Public Management Center. She is certified to deliver VitalSmarts, TalentSmart, DDI, Paradigm and Covey training curricula, and is a Authentic Leadership coach currently pursuing her International Coaching Federation ACC. In addition, Mildred is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
Mildred’s professional, civic engagement and research interests involve the prevention and reduction of inequity within underserved populations including, but not limited to, social justice, economic status, disparate health status and health promotion, and/or cultural bias. Other skills include advocacy, community mobilization, coalition building, evaluation, and not-for-profit administration and board development. In her consulting practice, Mildred specializes in authentic leadership coaching, corporate training and talent development, motivational speaking, restorative leadership destination retreats and leadership program design and evaluation. A few recent clients include COMBAT of Jackson County, Veterans Administration Department of Health Resources and Administration Topeka, City of Kansas City Missouri Department of Human Relations and the American Contract Compliance Association.
Mildred is a member of the International Coaching Federation and the Association for Talent Development, chairman of the Kansas Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, National Health and Human Services Mental Health Committee member for The Links, Inc., and is actively involved in local Rotary and Topeka (KS) Chapter of The Links, Inc., organizational program activities.
