Event Details

Tuesday, July 14 | 6 to 7:15 p.m.

In this session facilitated by Donna Wright and Dioane Gates, participants will use images from the recent George Floyd protests to make observations and interpretations on the current relationship between communities of color and law enforcement and begin to explore action steps that individuals can take on their own to make progress on this issue.

This Journal Talk is a continuation of a series that began in 2017 around the relationship between law enforcement and communities of color in Kansas. Learn more.

What’s a Journal Talk?

Journal Talks are a small-group conversation series based on content from The Journal, the Kansas Leadership Center’s print and online magazine. Each year, KLC selects an issue of statewide interest and encourages civically engaged individuals to discuss it using KLC’s principles and competencies of leadership as a guidepost. Our hope is that participants who attend will be interested in hosting their own conversation back in their organizations.
