In an effort to engage its community in promoting leadership for the common good, Konza Club Salina hosted the first-ever “Konza Seeds,” a charity micro-funding dinner Tuesday evening.
The leadership program alumni event was designed to connect the community with local civic projects that need cultivating with “seed money” while sharing resources, ideas and leadership skills over a simple meal. Four groups presented to a crowd of nearly 50 people about their efforts to improve the community. Audience members then voted on their favorite presenting charity.
The dinner raised $540 for the winner, the Stay Positive, Keep Fit Survivorship Class presented by Bonnie Barrett and Mary Landes. The yoga-based class is delivered to adults who are currently going through cancer treatment or are survivors of cancer.
